Clinical Care
Medical Arts and Research Center - MARC
The MARC (Medical and Research Campus) concept began as a solution to improve care for our patients. Presently, we see patients in numerous sites throughout San Antonio. As a patient centered facility, the MARC will continually elevate the quality care and improve patient outcomes.
The MARC is scheduled for completion in the last quarter of 2008. The building will be approximately 180,000 square feet. Much of the parking will be in the hillside and under the different levels of the building. This plan will shorten distances to the clinics.
The MARC will consist of clinics strategically placed to serve patients by multi -specialty teams as well as clinics placed in a traditional setting. Diagnostic services such as X-ray, CT Scan, MRI, Cardiac imagining will be located in the facility. At the present there will be four ambulatory surgical suites. All areas will be designed to accommodate expansion. A food court, surgical supply, conference center and research area will be incorporated.
Great efforts are being made to have the exterior of the building blend with surrounding structures and yet be clearly recognizable. The MARC will be a major step forward for the School of Medicine to maintain its excellence in research, education and clinical care.
