I am a Pediatric Hospitalist and have been working at UTHSCSA since 2006, including three years as a Pediatric resident. I've always loved teaching so it seemed natural after finishing residency to join the faculty where I could have an active role in medical student and resident education. I am originally from south Texas and completed medical school in Fort Worth, Texas at the University of North Texas Health Science Center – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to my role as hospitalist, I assist in developing and teaching the pediatric residency inpatient curriculum. I also enjoy tackling quality improvement projects that aim to improve patient care and safety. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my husband and young twins, reading and traveling.

Hi everyone! I'm from Brenham, Texas, a tiny country town where the delicacy known as Blue Bell ice cream is crafted. I earned my Bachelor's in Brain and Cognitive Science with a minor in Psychology at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. After graduation, I moved to Milwaukee, WI, and completed a term of service through AmeriCorps with a non-profit called College Possible, assisting underserved high school students in preparing for the ACT and applying to college. The following year I worked at the Medical College of Wisconsin as a pediatric clinical research assistant, focusing my efforts on injury prevention research. I have decided to specialize in pediatrics, and am looking forward to dressing up for Halloween each year with my patients! When I am not occupied by medical school commitments, I am usually eating, cooking/baking, exploring the food scene of San Antonio, spending time with my friends and loved ones, and scouting a new place to hike or take in nature. Needless to say, feel free to reach out when you want a break from the study grind, need a place to take your loved ones to dinner when they visit, or want to know which HEB has the best cheese collection!

I am the coolest and best MIM ever, so if you're in purple, you my friend, are extremely fortunate. Other people may say ""Caleb is okay..."" or ""Caleb is weird..."" or ""Caleb talks too much..."", but don't listen to them. They are just jealous.

But, in all seriousness, I was born in Dallas, grew up in Manila, Philippines (my parents are missionaries) and then returned to Dallas for high school. I went to UT Dallas where I majored in physics and minored in music. I did not originally plan to go to medical school, so I spent three years after undergrad teaching test prep full time and finishing up my prerecs. Medical school has been amazing/horrible and everything in between but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything! If you ever want to talk about dealing with severe ADHD, failing a class and then remediating, or finally figuring out how to study in 3rd year, I know a guy ;)

Also, I spend a lot of my free time on church stuff (I'm a non-denominational evangelical Christian), hiking, video games, and motorcycle riding. If you're looking for a church or a bible study, let me know. If you're an outdoors person or a gamer, I am also always happy to talk (unless you play league, then we are mortal enemies!). And, if you ride motorcycles or want try life on two wheels... don't. It's a very dangerous hobby and definitely a bad idea :)

Alexis Tracy

Alexis Tracy

Hi! My name is Alexis Tracy. I have lived all over the world, but spent most of my child years in Los Angeles. I moved to Texas in 2009 to start my undergraduate education at Baylor University. I majored in Biology and minores in Medical Humanities while there. I took a year off in between college and medical school to travel and gain work experience before dedicating myself to my career in medicine. As long as I can remember, I have loved painting, writing, and traveling! When I have the time, I try to nurture these passions. At this time, I am interested in Dermatology as a specialty and intend on following this pursuit. I am excited to be a MIM and look forward to this upcoming year!

Hey everyone, my name is Yimage Ahmed and I am from Richardson, Texas. I attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville for undergrad, where I majored in an interdisciplinary Neuroscience and Psychology program with a minor in Medicine, Health, and Society. After graduation, I moved back to North Texas where I worked with high school students during my gap year. I have many interests and have not decided on a specific specialty yet. I'm currently the clinical coordinator for Haven for Hope, one of the student-run free clinics through our Student Faculty Collaborative Practice (SFCP) and an officer for our school's chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). I'm looking forward to being a VPA next year and can't wait to meet all of you!

Molly Bergen

Molly Bergen

My name is Molly Bergen, and I grew up in Keller, TX. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2013 (whoop!) with a degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Business Administration. I worked as a technology strategy consultant after graduating before deciding to pursue medical school, and I couldn't be happier to be here. During the free time that I have, I enjoy running, eating as much cheese as possible, playing with my french bulldog Ruby, and doing pretty much anything outdoors. Please email me - I am more than happy to answer any questions or concerns anyone has! Welcome to UTHSA!

Kaley El-Arab

Hello everyone! I was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. I did not go far for undergrad at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX where I studied Chemistry, Mathematics, and Latin. At SMU I did research, joined Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and studied abroad at Oxford. I graduated in 2016 and took a 3 week vacation in Thailand before coming straight to UTHSA. Being at UTHSA has given me great friendships and opportunities. I currently have too many interests to say what medical specialty I want to go into, but thankfully I have plenty of time to figure out what is most important to me. In my free time I like to go to Gold's gym, play piano, and read autobiographies, not to mention binge watch Netflix shows with my awesome roomie.
