Recruitment & Appointment Processes

Clinical Faculty Credentialing/Privileges

Beginning February 20, 2017:
All new faculty appointments in the School of Medicine will be processed electronically via UT Health Careers.

The new UT Health Careers faculty recruitment and appointment portal will be available for all SOM Departments as of February 20, 2017.

Users of the system (internal users), please login using your current UTHSCSA credentials by:

  1. Login from Inside UTHSCSA Portal or
  2.  UT Health Careers

APPOINTMENT Processes that remain unchanged:

  • SOM Faculty Life Office will continue to require a 30-60 day processing timeframe prior to the effective/start date.
  • Name Affidavits are required for all SOM appointments.
  • If 75% or greater FTE and Associate Professor or greater rank, a PTAC packet will be needed via the paper packet process.

***Note: New Adjunct faculty appointment packets at Associate Professor or Professor must include a Memo from the Chair to the Dean with a brief justification for appointing at a rank above assistant professor.
