Faculty Promotion, Tenure & Appointment Committee (PTAC)

 

The abbreviation 'PTAC' stands for the Faculty Promotion, Tenure & Appointments Committee, but it is used to mean everything related to faculty promotion, tenure and initial appointment review, or to the PTAC Committee itself.


PROCESS: The PTAC preparation and approval process at the SOM starts with the faculty member working together with the Department PTAC and for large departments, the Division PTAC. Faculty packet preparation for final school-level PTAC review moves from the department level to the LSOM PTAC for review and then to the LSOM Dean before forwarding to AFSA & President for approval.
