The fourth year curriculum exposes students to additional medical specializations and/or allows the student to return to a core specialty with advanced duties and responsibilities. The schedule includes 8 weeks of selectives, 18 weeks of electives, and 5 weeks of didactics. During the year, ample time is allotted for students to travel for residency interviews.
- 8 weeks of selectives (4 weeks inpatient, 4 weeks outpatient)
- 18 weeks of electives (2 or 4 week rotations, here or anywhere in U.S.)
- 5 weeks of didactics (March, no rotations at this time)
- 10 weeks of vacation (used for USMLE, interviews, etc.)
