Welcome our new Long School of Medicine Dean

Robert Hromas, M.D., FACP
Dean, Long School of Medicine at
UT Health San Antonio


Robert Hromas, M.D., FACP is the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine Dean and UT Health San Antonio Vice President for Medical Affairs.
Dr. Hromas earned a B.S. in Biology at Wheaton College, Illinois and his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He did a post-doctoral research fellowship in the regulation of immunoglobulin gene expression and a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa, followed by a post-doctoral research fellowship in transcriptional regulation of hematopoiesis at the University of Washington. He also was a hematology fellow at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine with a subspecialty board certification in hematology.
